The Plan: Listen to What Your Body is Telling You About Your Health – with Lyn-Genet Recitas

Lyn-Genet Recitas’ success story began when everything she thought she knew about healthy eating was proven to be wrong. Lyn-Genet is a sports nutritionist, NMT, and a Holistic Health Practitioner and New York Times bestselling author of The Plan. She developed The Plan, a system for reducing inflammation in the gut, based on real-time evidence from her clients and her own research. Now she is changing lives and promoting wellness all over the world while encouraging us to pay close attention to the expert opinions we take for granted. Lyn-Genet is the #NextFem because of her willingness to stand by her theories in order to transform lives with The Plan. Today, you will hear plenty of success stories, incredible myth-busting nutrition facts, and find inspiration for your next meal or two. Lyn-Genet is a wellspring of information and compassion. There are no starving dieters here!

Inflammation, not calories, is causing weight gain

One of the biggest myths Lyn-Genet is out to bust is that an excess of calories and a slow metabolism is what is causing your weight gain. It’s not true! Throughout her studies, she was told, like most of us were, that if we cut calories and eat healthy food, we will lose weight. After conducting real-time research with her own clients, Lyn-Genet was amazed at how poorly her clients still felt. Yes, these people were eating what was widely regarded as “healthy food,” but the pounds simply wouldn’t move. Lyn-Genet then took a daring step and decided to target only the foods that were making each client feel worse after eating. She theorized that because it was causing an inflammatory response, the weight wouldn’t budge. Confident she was onto something, Lyn-Genet coached her clients to eat much less of the inflammatory foods and was amazed at the results. Her initial research formed the basis of The Plan, her revolutionary system to reduce inflammation in the gut.

Your body is trying to tell you something!

Today, Lyn-Genet is teaching us how to listen to our bodies and unlock the messages they are sending us. Whether it is chronic fatigue, weight gain, depression, or illness, we can watch for and listen to our bodies as they tell us the kinds of foods that are good for us and those that are not. The body is capable of healing itself, but only if we eat foods that will not inflame our gut! Much of The Plan is tailored to each individual. Unlike other elimination diets or calorie-slashing programs, The Plan teaches you to take cues from your body and eat more of the foods that will heal you, and less of the ones that inflame you. Just as no two bodies are alike, no two people will follow The Plan in the same manner.

Your health is the top priority

I know I speak for a lot of women when I say that the scale carries with it a lot of negative emotions. Lyn-Genet is about to revolutionize how I think about weight loss because she sees the numbers on the scale as even more signals, rather than markers of success or failure. The bottom line is not an ideal weight, but an ideal sense of well-being! Lyn-Genet never expects perfection, and would never deny a client food that their body truly loves. Wine and cheese lovers (like me!) can rejoice in the fact that we get to keep the foods that make our hearts sing! Ultimately, what works best for you will yield the best results, and Lyn-Genet is here to be your cheerleader and your guide. She encourages you today to make a commitment to your body and work to understand the signals it gives you. Health and wellness are not about being perfect; it’s about taking back your life and living it to the fullest!
